Javier Castro, AIA, MRED, NCARB, is an expert architect with considerable knowledge in real estate development, life safety codes, and construction administration. Javier believes in the practice of responsible real estate development and the idea that investment opportunities should reflect the very best of our society’s culture, values, and beliefs.
He is an advocate of creating architecture that is sensitive to the natural conditions of the land, climate, and cultural and historic setting. His range of experience is extensive, and it includes understanding macro and micro real estate economics, real estate market research, due diligence, entitlements, development programming, site analysis, financial feasibility, and discounted cash flow modeling and analysis.
It also includes architectural master planning, concept design, project design development, technical construction documentation, construction contract administration, and project management. He also has extensive expertise as a multi-discipline code examiner within the International Code Council (ICC) family of codes.
He is a voting member of the ICC and is also instrumental in developing code amendments and code interpretations for the City of San Antonio. Javier has earned a Master of Real Estate Development degree with Honors from the University of Arizona. He also earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree with Honors from the University of Houston.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects and is a certificate holder with the National Council of Registration Boards, which allows him to practice architecture in most of the United States.
